The Lanzarote Civil Action Platform inaugurated its new headquarters last Friday the 19th, located at Calle Juan Negrín, 158, in Arrecife. The premises, named Space for Peace and Friendship, opened its doors with an emotional event attended by numerous neighbors, who wanted to share this special moment with the association.

The atmosphere of the day was marked by the illusion and commitment of the platform to consolidate a place open to citizens, where coexistence, dialogue and solidarity are the protagonists.

An active voice in Lanzarote society

Lanzarote Civil Action, which was presented in April last year, seeks to consolidate itself as an active platform in the social life of the island. Since its birth, it has shown its involvement in issues that directly affect the residents of Arrecife, such as the excess noise derived from the celebration of festivals in the municipality or the need for more efficient management of public resources.

“We want to be a voice that adds, that builds and that is always on the side of the people. Our objective is simple but profound: to work together for a more just, more livable and more humane Arrecife and Lanzarote,” its spokespersons said during the inauguration.

A space also for culture

The new premises will not only be a social meeting point, but also a cultural one. As the first event of this new stage, on October 28, the Space for Peace and Friendship will host the presentation of the new book by journalist Antonio Quintana. This event will inaugurate the platform's cultural program, which aims to turn its headquarters into a living and dynamic space at the service of Lanzarote society.
