The dance school 'Lanzarote Baila', from Arrecife, has returned from the competition in Torrelavega, Cantabria, with a total of six awards, even winning the Spanish Tango Championship, which allows them to represent the country in the next European Championship.
The Arrecife group traveled with a total of five couples to the competition. The senior couple from the dance school, the one formed by Steven and Yureima, won the title of Spanish Tango Champions, which will allow them to represent the country in the next European Championship. In addition, they also finished in third position in the Salsa Championship.
The couple formed by Aitami and Vania won the Spanish Tango runner-up title, in the category of 10 to 14 years old. For their part, the couple of Fernando and Yurima returned to the island with three awards, competing in the category of 14 to 18 years old, as they also won the Spanish runner-up title, in addition to another third position in the Chachachá Championship and second in the Bachata Championship. Two more couples from the Lanzarote dance school also participated, composed of Gabriel and Mikaela and by Anderson and Paula.
The director of the team, Miguel Medina, states that this championship "served as a shakedown and knowledge", since in January they will begin the new season "with more enthusiasm than ever."
