The journalist and researcher Olga Rodríguez will give a talk/colloquium next Tuesday, December 10, at the José Saramago House Museum in Tías on the occasion of International Human Rights Day. Under the title What is happening in Palestine and how is the international order changing?, Rodríguez will give a presentation at 7:00 p.m. in the José Saramago Library.
Olga Rodríguez is a journalist and writer specializing in international information, the Middle East, and Human Rights. She is also the author of books such as The Wet Man Does Not Fear the Rain. Voices from the Middle East (Debate, 2009) and I Die Today. The Arab Revolts (Debate, 2012), among others.
She also has several awards for her work. Among them, the Joan Gomis Solidary Journalism Award 2024, the Alberto Almansa Social Journalism Award 2024, the Honoris Causa Pimentel Fonseca Human Rights Award (Italy, 2019), the Journalism and Human Rights Award 2014 by the Association for Human Rights of Spain, the International Press Club Award 2005 for her reports from Gaza and Ciudad Juárez, and the Ortega y Gasset collective award 2003 for the coverage of the invasion and occupation of Iraq, among others.
Rodríguez has also worked as a journalist in Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Israel, Afghanistan, Belgium, USA, Mexico, and Spain.
