The Arrecife Carnivals have come to an end and, once again, the sardine has burned in flames to take away the last vestiges of the party. The people of Arrecife have said goodbye to Don Carnal, representing a duel with a festive tone, in which the rhythms of the batucadas and the comparsas have enlivened the afternoon, while the widows tried to show their pain, even if a smile escaped.
The procession, which departed from the Arrecife City Council, has traveled along the Avenida Marítima, and on the Reducto beach you could enjoy a fireworks show, while the deceased sardine was consumed in flames.
The winning floats have also participated in this parade. The first has turned out to be the one called "The Lost Temple", the second, The Vikings of Arrieta and the third, has been the one that focused on the theme of penguins.
The float that came in third place was the first of them to leave. Likewise, murgas and comparsas have also participated in this parade and after the sardine the political authorities of the capital have been placed, such as the mayor Enrique Pérez Parrilla and the Councilor for Festivities, Miguel Ángel Ferrer, and the neighbors who have signed up to participate in the parade.
The public that has attended this party has been numerous, especially the streets were full after the Islas Canarias park, and in this way goodbye has been said to the Arrecife Carnivals, which move to other parts of the island.
