The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, will once again spend the Christmas holidays in Lanzarote, in the midst of a government crisis that has led him to announce an early election.

After losing the vote of confidence to which he submitted in the Bundestag (the Lower House of the German Parliament), the social democrat must make way for early elections in the country before the end of February 2025.

It is not the first time that Scholz has visited the island of Lanzarote during this holiday, he also chose the island of volcanoes in December 2023 and in the same month of 2022.
