The third and final phase of the XXVII Murgas Contest of the Arrecife Carnival was held on Wednesday night, with the six murgas that will sing in the final next Friday and fight for the three interpretation, lyrics and music awards being announced at the end of it. A third phase that was marked by the performance of three female murgas, Inadaptadas, Pijoletas and Intoxicadas, and that closed with the participation of Los Desahuciados.
Las Inadaptadas
President: Cathaysa Cabrera
Musical Director: Raquel Cabrera

Fantasy: "With a hat, tie and clown shoe, we come to make you laugh for a while"
1st Song: "Everything I have to say, I say it to your face"

In the Arrecife Carnival since 2002, Las Inadaptadas were in charge of opening the third phase of the Arrecife Carnival Murgas Contest and this year they have a total of 61 members. In the first song they made reference to the elderly who were evicted in the Argana neighborhood and asked for respect among the murgas during the Carnival, criticizing that many of them do the ugly thing of getting up from the stands when the rest of the groups sing. In the second song Las Inadaptadas became the rock group "Las Loles" and among other things asked to be like the Little Nicholas to live like a marajal.
Las Pijoletas
President: Yurena Cabrera
Musical Director: Carolina Villa
Designer: Dunia Mederos
Fantasy: "I arrived as a tamer, to surprise at Carnival"
1st Song: "Lanzarote a circus without a tamer"
2nd Song: "special Carnival draw"
Las Pijoletas are celebrating in this edition, being their fifth anniversary in the Arrecife Carnival. Las Pijoletas have a total of 44 members this year, who in the first song presented us with the circus that politics has become on the island of Lanzarote, with some politicians parading such as Víctor Sanginés, José Montelongo or Pedro San Ginés. In the second song, they became girls from San Ildefonso, holding a special Carnival draw. The target of the criticisms of Las Pijoletas in this song fell on José Manuel Soria or the Little Nicholas, a character who has practically been in all the murguera songs of this Carnival.
Las Intoxicadas
President: Cathaysa Marrero
Musical Director: Cristina Marrero
Designer: Murga
Fantasy: "Sailor clown against the corrupt penny-pincher"
1st Song: "My pending thesis"
2nd Song: "Some defendants and the people pissed off"
It is one of the oldest murgas in the Arrecife Carnival, with Las Intoxicadas participating since 1997. This year they arrive with a total of 45 members and wearing the fantasy of sailor clowns. A first song in which they made a special thesis. And the second song was dedicated to political corruption, remembering the large number of public officials and businessmen who have been charged on the island of Lanzarote. Las Intoxicadas had a special mention in their farewell to their colleagues from Los Intoxicados, who this year have not been able to participate in this Arrecife Carnival.
Los Desahuciados
President: Manuel Hernández
Musical Director: Javi Hernández
Designer: Tino Morín
Fantasy: "What a gale"
1st Song: "Homeland"
2nd Song: "Torrente six, mission Lanzarote"
The third phase of the XXVII Murgas Contest of the Arrecife Carnival closed with the performance of Los Desahuciados, a murga that this year arrives with a total of 63 members. In the first song they made a call to the Canarian identity, claiming that the Canarians feel proud of being Canarian wherever they are and claiming that the Canary Islands are one. In the second song, Los Desahuciados became José Luis Torrente and had a special mission in Lanzarote. For this they had special agents of the stature of Manuel Fajardo Feo and Pedro de Armas. A song in which they remembered that in Lanzarote there are more than 200 people charged with corruption.
Finalists and order of performance
The jury had the difficult task of choosing the six murgas that access the final of the XXVII Murgas Contest of the Arrecife Carnival, listening in the three nights to the lyrics, music and interpretation of the 12 murguera groups that have participated. The wait for the jury's verdict was enlivened by the musical group Sentimiento con Arte.
The presenter of the three phases of the murgas contest, Francisco José Navarro, was in charge of announcing the six murgas that access the final next Friday, February 13. In the grand final will be Los Desahuciados, Los Simplones, Las Vaciolonas, Las Inadaptadas, Los Tabletuos and Los Titi Roys. The fans and murgueros of the classified groups celebrated it in the stands of the Arrecife Fairgrounds.
In the back of the stage the draw for the order of performance of the final was carried out, with a representative of each of the classified murgas. The final will be opened by the members of Las Vacilonas, who have qualified for the final for the first time. It will continue with Los Desahuciados, to give way in third place to the Titi Roys. The fourth murga to perform will be Los Tabletuos, to continue with Las Inadaptadas and conclude the final with the performance of Los Simplones.
