This Thursday, a tribute was paid to the artist Jesús Soto from Majorca in the San Román cemetery, on the third anniversary of his death. The president of the Cabildo, Inés Rojas, and the councilor of the CACTs, Pedro San Ginés, attended the event, and laid bouquets of flowers at the artist's niche.
Jesús Soto, together with César Manrique, contributed to the construction, adaptation, decoration and lighting of many of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote. In 1964 he adapted nearly two kilometers of the Cueva de los Verdes, respecting its structure and limiting its manipulation.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote named Jesús Soto "Adoptive Son" of the Island in 2002.
