At just 14 years old, the young singer from Uga, Elieser Betancort, debuted with Los Sabandeños at the San Isidro Labrador festivities last Sunday, May 15th.
The IES Yaiza student accompanied the emblematic group with folías and malagueñas, with more than 50 years of experience in traditional Canarian music.
The town hall highlights "the interpretive quality of Elieser, who stood with total naturalness next to his tenors".
In addition, it should be noted that this is not the first time he has performed with a renowned group, since in September of last year he sang with Los Gofiones in the commemoration "Yaiza Historical City".
Specifically, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, has highlighted that the young man has been on many stages, from the soloists' meetings of Femés, different popular festivals of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands, and even the La Voz Kids program of Antena 3. "Elieser is a pride of our municipality, who has moved us since he was very young," he says.
For his part, Alejandro Betancort, the young man's father, says that he has already "passed him over". It should be noted that both have performed together in different musical shows of Canarian folklore, such as "Mano a mano", but also in traditional Mexican music events, bachata, pop and some classical pieces.
Likewise, before going on stage with Los Sabandeños, the singer "had already delivered his musical offering to San Isidro" at the end of the pilgrimage, accompanying the group of revelers of Pedro Mariano Viñoly, family and friends.
"Elieser sings with recognized groups, but with the same gift and humility, he does it with popular artists of the land," they add from the town hall.
