Everyone wants to be the Queen of the Arrecife Carnival 2007. On Saturday, February 3, the candidates for Queen of the Carnival were presented to all the people of Arrecife. Eight girls, all very beautiful, took to the stage to parade dressed in shells and Caribbean motifs.
In this 2007 edition, the number of candidates is higher than in previous years and they were presented by Manuel LLanes in an event where there was no shortage of music and rhythms from the "Los Güimeiros" troupe.
The mayoress, Maria Isabel Déniz, and the councilor for festivities, Encarna Páez, were in charge of giving the candidates a souvenir gift and were accompanied at all times by the Queen of the 2006 Carnival, who in just over 15 days must hand over the precious crown to the winner of this year 2007.
The election of the candidates will take place next Saturday, February 17, where the participants' costumes and their grace and charm to parade with them can be assessed.
