Eight deaths with Covid in the Canary Islands in three days, one of them in Lanzarote

The number of positives in people over 60 years of age also continues to increase, and 1,265 have been reported in the archipelago since Tuesday

Eight people with Covid have died in the Canary Islands since last Tuesday, thus confirming the upward trend that is being experienced again in the archipelago. In addition, one of the deaths has taken place in Lanzarote, as reported by the Ministry of Health.

For its part, Tenerife concentrates half of the deaths in three days, with four deaths, while two have been reported in Gran Canaria and one in Fuerteventura. The eight patients were between 71 and 94 years old and, according to the Ministry, "had previous pathologies".

Regarding the new positives, an increase is also confirmed, at least in the only age group that is still being tested by the Ministry of Health. In total, only in those over 60 years of age, 1,265 new positives have been detected since Tuesday.

The Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 790.41 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 434.67.

Currently, in the Archipelago there are 232 people admitted with coronavirus, of which 11 are in the ICU and the rest, 221, on the ward.
