The island has hosted the Young Researchers Conference organized by the Canary Islands Cancer Research Institute (ICIC) and the Association of Oncohmeathological Families of Lanzarote (AFOL). since last Saturday.

This Monday at 7:00 p.m. the conference culminates at the Arrecife Gran Hotel with a colloquium in which researchers in the field participate to present different issues regarding advances in the knowledge of the disease and its possible solutions.

Nicolás Díaz Chico will participate first with the presentation "the cancer research in the Canary Islands", followed by Sergio Moreno who will talk about "Molecular bases of cancer". "Early detection and treatment of colorectal cancer" is the area on which Javier Dorta will speak and Orlando Falcón will discuss "Primary prevention in cervical cancer. Vaccines against human papillomavirus".

The colloquium will be moderated by the president of AFOL, Carmen Arrocha and Marisa Herrara, Canary Association of Breast Cancer.

On the other hand, AFOL organizes the IV Charity Gala Dinner of the association, destined to raise funds to contribute to the better quality of life of cancer patients and their families, which will take place on Saturday, November 17 at 9:00 p.m. in the halls of the Hotel Beatriz de Costa Teguise. Tickets can be purchased at the association's headquarters, at the Hotel Beatriz and at the herbalist shop in the "El Mercadillo" shopping center, on Calle Real.
