On the night of this Friday, March 10, Manuel Hernández Hernández, known as "Melín", has died at the age of 75 after a long illness.
Hernández was the owner of the Yuco construction company in Lanzarote.
In the book "The Volcano of Tourism", by Juan Cruz, it is explained that Melín lived the entire evolutionary process of the island's construction in the front row. His name was associated with the construction companies Herca, Construlan, and, since 1981, with his company, Construcciones Yuco.
Projects such as the La Hoya Shopping Center, Loma Verde Apartments, Victoria Apartments, Albatros and Hervideros, as well as the works of the Martínez Abolafio Group, were included in his brilliant service record.
Melín leaves behind his wife, Ángela Manrique, two children, Carlos and Vicky, and daughter-in-law, Anabel Gopar. His siblings were Teresita, Domingo, deceased, Antonio, Ginés, Bielo, deceased, and Felipe, also deceased.
