The hotelier Ángel Luque Rodríguez has passed away this Wednesday at 71 years of age. Luque has been running the Txapela bar in Costa Teguise for more than thirty years, a meeting place for the Basque community in the town.
The Txapela bar was a benchmark for Basque food on the island and an obligatory place to follow the matches of Athlétic de Bilbao, of which he was a great fan.
This Friday, December 2, he will be watched over in room 2 of Mémora starting at 11:00 a.m. and at 7:00 p.m. a funeral mass will be held in the same funeral home.
