Lanzarote adds a new case of covid-19 this Saturday after an English tourist tested positive, according to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands. This new case raises the number of active cases on the island to eight, six immigrants from the boat that arrived on July 8 and an island resident who returned from Mexico.

In the entire Canary Islands, nine cases have been detected in the last few hours, two from Lanzarote, 5 in Gran Canaria, which are 2 foreign crew members of ships, 2 contacts of a positive case and 1 contact of the Lleida outbreak, 1 in Tenerife, which is a contact of one of the outbreaks, and 1 in Fuerteventura, which is a contact of the family outbreak. "All have been detected thanks to tracking and early detection work and are all isolated", they say from the Ministry of Health.
