The Sahrawi human rights activist, Aminetu Haidar, will return to Lanzarote, five years after staging a hunger strike at the Guacimeta airport. Haidar will give a conference on the 18th at the Sociedad Democracia, in Arrecife, at 8:00 p.m.

The activist will talk about the human rights situation in the occupied territories of Western Sahara and about the peaceful resistance of the Sahrawi people. Haidar, Hamdi Monsour, Josefa Milán, from the Federation of Solidarity Institutions, and the president of the Cabildo, Pedro San Ginés, will speak at this event in Arrecife.

Haidar staged a 32-day hunger strike in November 2009 at the Lanzarote airport after being "deported" by Morocco.
