The Works Council of the Association of People with Disabilities of Lanzarote (Adislan), through UGT, has issued a press release to denounce the breach of salary payments to employees. The union has denounced that this situation "seriously affects" the staff.
Thus, it has advanced that if the situation is not resolved soon, mobilizations will be called, with partial and general stoppages of the services provided by Adislan.
According to this press release, Adislan's employees have not received "a full payment" of the March payroll and have only been paid 800 euros per person, an amount "insufficient to cover their basic needs".
In this line, UGT has highlighted that since June 2023, the company owes the staff "a significant part of the corresponding arrears" of 2022. In addition, it has indicated that this "lack of compliance is unacceptable and affects the economic stability" of the workers.
Meanwhile, it has indicated that the delay in collections is already "a constant" in Adislan. So much so that it generates "uncertainty and anxiety" among the staff. In addition, they have attributed to the company the lack of communication to justify why they will not receive their full salaries in March.
The Works Council has added that it is "unacceptable" that the workers are "always" affected by administrative difficulties. Thus, it has indicated that the quality of the service will be affected.
Meanwhile, they have demanded that the Cabildo de Lanzarote regularize "immediately" the services managed by Adislan. Thus, they ask for a "social agreement" to assume the direct and public management from the Cabildo or a real transitional agreement, so as not to put at risk any job or quality of service.
To conclude, they have pointed out that Adislan does not have the "sufficient" financial capacity to maintain the management of public places of residence, day centers and functional homes.
