A pneumatic-type boat has been located northeast of Arrecife, as reported by the Emergency Consortium.
The Salvamar Polimnia has rescued the 54 occupants of the boat and taken them to the Arrecife Commercial pier. The Red Cross has assisted the 38 men, 8 women and eight minors who were in apparent good health. Except for one man, who had to be transferred to the island's hospital due to abdominal pain, according to the Red Cross.
According to CECOES, the immigrants on board the boat made telephone calls to report their whereabouts in order to be found.
The resources activated to initiate the rescue have been Guardamar Polimnia, Red Cross, CNP Immigration, CECOES reports.
