A pneumatic boat with 56 immigrants and two babies rescued south of Lanzarote

They have been transferred to the Commercial pier of Arrecife

A pneumatic boat with 58 sub-Saharan immigrants, two of them babies, was rescued this Sunday while sailing south of Lanzarote, Maritime Rescue has reported.

The boat has been spotted by the Geo Ocean VI vessel about 54 miles from Arrecife.

The Salvamar Al Nair has rescued the 58 immigrants, among whom there are eight women and two babies, and they have transferred them to the Commercial port of Arrecife, where they have arrived at about 5:00 p.m.

The Red Cross has assisted them on land and have reported that they have had to make two transfers to the Molina Orosa hospital for different pathologies.
