A boat with 48 immigrants of Maghreb origin on board, eight of them minors, was rescued last morning in waters near Lanzarote, emergency services report.
The Helimer 206 of Maritime Rescue has sighted the boat around 4:40 a.m., and has remained next to it until the arrival of the Salvamar Al Nair, which at 6:15 a.m. rescued the 48 immigrants.
The 48 immigrants, 40 adult males and eight minors, have been transferred to the Commercial dock, in Arrecife.
According to initial estimates by emergency services, all are in good health.
