The 'Lolina Curbelo' Lanzarote Island Gymnastics Festival kicked off in its twenty-first edition with a massive parade, but with a new itinerary compared to the traditional one. On Saturday morning, it started from the Islas Canarias Park and reached the widest area of El Reducto beach, next to the Theme Park, where the participants offered a small preview in the form of an exhibition. Afterwards, the little ones participated in workshops set up in various parts of the Theme Park.
About 1,700 people are taking part in this year's Festival, which was promoted and driven by Lolina Curbelo and which this year presents several new features in terms of organization. Once presented this morning, the festival will experience its inaugural day next Thursday, May 2, but it will be in the Teguise Municipal Pavilion at 8:00 p.m. Thus, next Thursday a gift will be given to the mentor of this event, Lolina Curbelo, by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Migdalia Machín.
The second day will be divided between two different venues: the San Bartolomé Municipal Theater, where it will begin at 6:30 p.m.; and the Teguise Municipal Pavilion, where it will begin at 8:00 p.m. The same will happen on Saturday, May 4, which will experience a first installment in the morning, from 11:00 a.m., in the Tías Sports Hall. The closing ceremony of the XXI Lanzarote Island Gymnastics Festival will take place in El Varadero square, in Puerto del Carmen, and will begin at 8:00 p.m.
