A Lanzarote native becomes the first Canary Islander to request euthanasia after its legalization

He suffers from a neurodegenerative disease and had been waiting for medical assistance to die to be legalized.

Sometimes the alternative to living in disgrace is to die in peace. For quite some time, a family from Lanzarote has wanted to apply that same precept to end the pain suffered by one of its members. The complications of the neurodegenerative disease suffered by this man from Conejero is what has led him to think that it was time to take a step forward and not be afraid of the consequences. His family has understood this and has been fighting by his side for some time to get him a treatment that really ends his pain. That same man has become the first Canary Islander to request euthanasia after its legalization on March 24 in Spain and is likely to be the first to receive it in the Islands.
