A boat is intercepted near the coast of Lanzarote

There were 47 people on board, 41 men, four women and two minors of Maghrebi origin

Maritime Rescue has rescued a new boat near the coast of Lanzarote, specifically 12 nautical miles from the island, as reported by the Emergency Consortium. 

There were about 47 people on board, 41 men, four women and two minors of Maghrebi origin, who are in "apparently good health". They are being transferred to Puerto Naos, where they are expected to arrive at 12.15 pm and where they will be attended to on land by the Red Cross.

The Salvamar and the Maritime Rescue Aircraft Helimer 204, have been the means activated for the rescue. The aircraft was the one that located the boat at 09.20 hours, after the warning of the immigrants themselves, who were the ones who alerted the CECOES

This is the seventh boat that arrives to the island, this Sunday six boats were rescued and 233 migrants in total.
