The Tourist Centers have organized two watercolor workshops and another art workshop aimed at minors with the objective of facilitating and promoting the development of their creativity and talent. The activities will take place on May 16 and 17, and 24 of the same month, coinciding with the celebration of Family Day and Museum Day, respectively.
“We want to facilitate the appropriate environment so that the artists of tomorrow can deploy all their creative skills and techniques,” explained the Councilor of the Entity, Ángel Vázquez, who also pointed out the importance of fostering artistic practice from an early age: “it awakens imagination, increases self-esteem and concentration capacity, and helps in the construction of values and personal judgment, among others.”
Watercolor workshop at the Jardín de Cactus
The watercolor will be the thematic axis of the two workshops that the Cactus Garden will host on May 16 and 17, from 11:00 to 13:00 hours.
During those two hours, 13 boys and girls from 6 years old, each accompanied by an adult (in total, 26 places on Saturday and another 26 on Sunday), will be able to explore the secrets of this technique based on the use of color and water to create artistic compositions. The workshops will be taught by the artist Lucía Entrialgo.
Registration (choose only one workshop per day) must be formalized in the following link.
Art workshop at the MIAC - Castillo de San José
On Sunday, May 24, for its part, an art workshop will take place, also taught by Lucía Entrialgo, in this case, in the International Museum of Contemporary Art, MIAC - Castillo de San José.
That day, between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, 13 boys and girls aged 6 and up accompanied by an adult (26 spots in total) will have the opportunity to share knowledge, techniques, and processes aimed at fostering artistic expression and creativity. Registration must be completed in the following link.
With this initiative, the Tourist Centers reinforce their commitment to access to culture and creative development from an early age on the island.
