The National Police incorporates 18 trainee agents in Arrecife

The police officers belonging to the XXXIX promotion of Basic Scale, will serve for 12 months in the different police units after completing the theoretical training period

The Superior Headquarters of the Canary Islands Police has announced that it is reinforcing its staff with the incorporation of 18 police officers in practice from the Basic Scale in Arrecife, who for one year will carry out their internship period in the different police stations of the Canary Islands. The incorporation ceremonies have been presided over by the Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana Padrón, and the Chief Superior of Police in the Canary Islands, Jesús María Gómez Martín.

The police officers belonging to the XXXIX promotion of Basic Scale, will serve for 12 months in the different police units after completing the theoretical training period, where they acquired knowledge in multiple subjects such as criminal and procedural law, investigation, scientific police, languages, self-defense or police shooting among others.

The agents will serve in the provincial, local and district police stations, integrating themselves with the rest of the national police officers assigned to the different units, carrying out together with them the work that is usually carried out by the judicial police, citizen security, complaint offices, information, immigration and scientific police groups.

The Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana Padrón, and the Chief Superior of Police in the Canary Islands, Jesús María Gómez Martín, have presented at the headquarters of the Superior Headquarters of Police of the Canary Islands 71 agents in practice who will complete their internship period in 42 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 20 in Telde and 9 in Maspalomas. In addition, the rest of the agents are joining the staff: 12 in Puerto del Rosario, 30 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 15 in Puerto de la Cruz, 9 in La Laguna, 19 in the South of Tenerife and 10 in Santa Cruz de La Palma.

The total of 184 agents in practice represent a considerable reinforcement in all the Police Stations of the islands in which the National Police is present, both for Operation Summer and for the security of the Canarian population.
