Tenerife North Airport has returned to its usual operation after being closed for more than 40 minutes due to an emergency landing. The incident occurred when an ATR aircraft from La Palma had to land in an unscheduled manner, becoming immobilized on the runway. The situation forced the suspension of takeoffs and the diversion of at least five inter-island flights to Tenerife South Airport.

During the interruption, significant operational delays were generated and up to 17 flights scheduled before 11:00 a.m. were put on hold. Air traffic controllers reported in real time on the process of removing the aircraft, which finally allowed the resumption of operations as normal. The incident affected numerous passengers in transit between islands.
