The schools of the island have visited the III Livestock, Agricultural and Fisheries Fair at the Agrotechnological Complex of Teguise. An educational and entertainment day in which more than a thousand students and teachers from various educational centers were able to learn about the importance of the primary sector of the island, in addition to serving as a learning space to identify local products.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted the importance of this type of event where "the richness and diversity of the primary sector of Lanzarote is made known and also because it is an opportunity for schools to enjoy quality products and understand the work and effort of our farmers, ranchers and fishermen," she explained.
For her part, the Councilor for Education of the Teguise City Council, Mar Boronat, pointed out that the fair is also an "important learning space for the little ones." "We have organized a program of activities for boys and girls with the aim of learning about the importance of the primary sector and quality local products," she explained.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, reminds citizens that they can participate in this fair "which is, without a doubt, a party for everyone, to enjoy with the family and learn about the tradition and gastronomy of our island. We want students to know the concerns of this sector and some of them to specialize in it."
The Minister of Education of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ascensión Toledo, has encouraged schoolchildren to visit the fair because "we want the boys and girls of Teguise and the entire island to get involved and learn in a fun way about our agricultural, livestock and fishing heritage, and serve them for their future."
At the end of the event, the president of the Island Council, in collaboration with the municipal institution, distributed bananas to the students who remained carrying out the recreational activities organized for them in the facilities of the Agrotechnological Complex. Betancort also spoke with the merchants present at the fair and attended to the media.
