Vacation rentals have become a booming business in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands. On this occasion, the sign with the double V reaches the most remote places on the island. A reflection of this are the mini-apartments or mini-houses that are already offered on the Airbnb vacation rental portal and that, for the most part, are located on farms away from urbanization.
Browsing the portal, the first advertisement for a "mini-house" soon appears. On this occasion, the property has air conditioning and is advertised in La Vegueta, in the municipality of Tinajo. It has capacity for three people and some small stairs on some boxes that lead to an upper floor where there is only a double bed mattress on the floor. In this case, it is a module with wheels where everything essential is located in a very small space and at its exit, the floor is made of wooden pallets.
Another case is the advertisement for a cabin that is offered in the north of Lanzarote. For 40 euros a night, two hosts offer this mini-space less than a kilometer from Charco del Palo in the municipality of Haría. The arrival to the place is not paved, the kitchen is made up of reused furniture and tiles and there is a gas hob for making food. Located on a farm, it shares space with three other accommodations and the shower water is heated by solar energy, so it recommends that guests shower between 11:00 and 18:00 in the afternoon to have hot water.
Without leaving Haría, a third advertisement is promoted on a farm in a space known as the Valle de las Mil Palmeras. The host describes it as "a place outside the urban center" and "without neighbors". To access this space you have to use an unpaved road and it is "essential" to approach by car.
In addition to the offers of cabins and mini-houses, there are also motorhomes for rent. Many advertisements of this type are published on this portal. Among them, one offers a caravan in Costa Teguise, located in front of the sea. On this occasion for 37 euros a night.
