The company Endesa has reported that the power outage scheduled for this Thursday in Lanzarote to carry out improvement and maintenance works on the electricity grid "will only last six and a half hours", a maximum of "one and a half hours in the morning and five hours in the afternoon".

This is a scheduled interruption whose date and time have been set in a "consensual manner for a long time with Canal Gestión Lanzarote and the Water Consortium of Lanzarote", with the electricity company ruling out that "the outage will last a full day". Endesa has highlighted that the improvement and maintenance works on the medium voltage network are "being carried out at the Punta Grande substation".

In addition, the company has reported that the power outage will take place this Thursday, May 23, between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. The interruption will be repeated in the afternoon, specifically in the time slot between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

"The rest of the day, users will have normal electricity supply," Endesa detailed. The company will try to shorten the initially planned hours as much as possible, speeding up the works to cause the "least inconvenience" and reminds users that "specific works on the network are necessary for its maintenance and improvements, a circumstance that has a short and medium-term impact on the quality of supply".

As already announced in La Voz, it should be remembered that the water supply will also be suspended this Thursday in Lanzarote. Canal Gestión announced it this Tuesday night, attributing these water cuts to the interruption of the electricity supply scheduled by Endesa for "the improvement works" it is carrying out at the Díaz Rijo Desalination Plant.
