The airline Binter presented this Friday its new gourmet menus 'More Canarian and Sustainable', which passengers on its national and international routes will be able to enjoy, starting on August 1, 2024.
At the event, held at the Rooftop Catalina Plaza Sustainable Hotel and hosted by the gastronomic journalist José Luis Reina, attendees were able to taste the new culinary offer of the company's differential service, which consists of three new gourmet appetizers, new breakfast flavors, and a special rotation for children, called BinterPeques.
This is a gastronomic experience carefully designed to bring us closer and closer to the flavor of the Canary Islands, offering authentic and fresh flavors, prioritizing local ingredients. The new menus incorporate typical products and dishes such as escaldón, mojo, banana, sweet potato, and gofio, highlighting the culinary richness of the Canary Islands.
Among the novelties of the complimentary appetizers are the new selection of Canarian cheeses, with the award-winning goat cheeses from El Tofio (Maxorata), accompanied by almonds, raisins, dried apricots, or dates depending on the month. In addition, the BinterPeques menu, with four varieties, incorporates fruits and new hot dishes.
Likewise, Binter will implement vegetarian and gluten-free menus, which will be available before the end of the year. This initiative represents a great novelty that will satisfy many passengers with specific dietary needs or special food preferences.
Commitment to sustainability
In line with its environmental care policy, the airline has made changes to its packaging to minimize the use of plastics, replacing them with other more sustainable materials such as wooden cutlery, sugar cane bowls, lighter sausage packaging, and, in general, compostable packaging, thus improving waste management.
In this way, it is expected to reduce approximately 15 tons of waste per year, more than 1 ton per month, in addition to reducing the weight on board.
With this initiative, Binter reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the promotion of local gastronomy, offering its passengers a unique culinary experience that respects the environment.
Advantages of flying in Canarian mode
The delivery of the gourmet menu on board is one of Binter's differential services that are identified with the Canarian way of traveling, in which the customer is the center and their travel experience is taken care of.
This premium service differs from the rest of the airlines that operate from the Canary Islands and is a benchmark in quality and service at a national and international level.
On board its planes, passengers also enjoy the comfort of its modern fleet with a configuration of two seats per row, without a middle seat, and ample space between rows of 79 centimeters.
In addition, the Canarian company offers an entertainment service with the latest news during flights.
Hand luggage in the cabin is included in all Binter fares, and on its national and international flights, the airline offers free connecting flights to the rest of the Canary Islands airports, thanks to the 230 flights it makes on average every day within the Archipelago.
Finally, it is worth remembering that fares such as Flexiplus incorporate great advantages for the passenger, allowing them to advance the flight on the same day at no additional cost.
