The César Manrique airport makes available to residents, town councils and users the so-called 'Interactive Noise Map', a visualization system, through an application called WebTrak, which aims to facilitate information on acoustic exposure. In this way, it will be possible to access the routes followed by the aircraft and the noise data collected by each of the Noise Measurement Terminals (NMT) installed in the airport environment.
This tool allows users, within a simple and intuitive graphic environment, to make queries, such as viewing the movements of aircraft in flight, as well as data corresponding to code, altitude or type of aircraft, for a historical interval of 60 days (with a delay of 30 minutes for security reasons).
It is also possible to represent the noise levels recorded in the NMTs installed around the airport and the data of the aircraft that caused them, as well as select the time period and/or geographical area to be displayed, allowing to identify the noise produced by the aircraft in a specific area or a specific period of time.
It is also now possible to calculate the direct distance between any aircraft and the place (for example: a house) it flies over. In addition, WebTrak allows the option of filing a complaint with respect to a certain aircraft, directly transferring to the airport the information associated with it for its corresponding analysis.
Available in Tenerife and will soon arrive in Fuerteventura
The implementation of this tool is being carried out gradually and linked to the installation of new Noise Monitoring Systems. The first to have it were the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airports in 2010, later incorporating the airports of Valencia, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández, Málaga-Costa del Sol, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Bilbao, Seville, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna and Tenerife Sur.
In the medium term, and linked to the policy of implementing noise measurement systems in the large airports of the Aena network, it is expected that this tool will also be available at the Fuerteventura Airport.
