National Police agents in the municipality of Arrecife have arrested a 48-year-old woman with a long criminal record as the alleged perpetrator of two theft offenses. The events unfolded after a call to the 091 hotline from the security personnel of a hospital center in Arrecife, reporting that they had detained a woman.
Several members of the center's healthcare staff told the officers who arrived at the scene how they had caught a woman stealing the bag of a foreign patient, so they detained her until the facts were clarified.
The agents were also able to verify that she was carrying a high-end mobile phone belonging to a nurse, which she had allegedly stolen in a restricted area for medical personnel. Therefore, the police officers proceeded to arrest her as the alleged perpetrator of two theft offenses.
The corresponding police report was prepared and sent to the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by agents from the Arrecife Police Station.
