Two art thieves arrested in Lanzarote

The events date back to September 3, when an alleged crime of robbery with force inside a house in the town of Guime was reported to the Civil Guard of the San Bartolomé Post, stealing three paintings, one by Salvador Dalí, another by Máximo and the third undetermined, as well as a plasma television, all valued at approximately 31,000 euros.

In view of the complaint, agents of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Costa Teguise established a special investigation device to clarify the event, and to prevent said works of art and the perpetrators of the robbery from leaving the island. In this way, on the same day 3, the alleged assailants were identified, who were arrested, being a woman L.L.C, 35 years old and a native of the United Kingdom, and a man J.A.M.G., 36 years old and a native of Arrecife.

After the arrest and investigation of the place where the effects could be found, a family home of the detained man, the stolen effects were recovered, all remaining at the disposal of the Arrecife Investigating Court.
