The Local Police of Teguise arrested two individuals in the early hours of this Sunday accused of an alleged crime of robbery with violence. The suspects were captured after a search operation, triggered by the assault on a tourist in Costa Teguise.
The Civil Guard alerted the Local Police about the theft of a high-end mobile phone, valued at more than 1,000 euros, and a smart watch. According to reports, the two individuals physically assaulted the tourist to seize the valuables.
After receiving the notice, the Teguise Local Police launched a follow-up operation. Using a geolocation application, the agents tracked the location of the stolen telephone, which allowed them to locate the alleged perpetrators of the robbery.
The chase culminated on Avenida de las Palmeras, where the agents intercepted two men who were walking towards Arrecife. At the time of the arrest, the stolen mobile phone was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
After the arrest, the suspects were placed at the disposal of the Civil Guard to continue with the corresponding procedures.
