National Police agents have arrested two men in Arrecife, 53 and 24 years old, with numerous police records, as alleged perpetrators of a robbery with force in a vehicle.
Thanks to the investigation work of the National Police in collaboration with the Civil Guard, the alleged perpetrators of several crimes of robbery with force of large amounts of cash have been arrested.
The arrested individuals used the so-called "puncture method" to distract their victims. This method consists of watching the victim while they withdraw cash from an ATM so that, once they return to their vehicle, one of the members of the criminal organization stops them, inventing any excuse, and simultaneously another punctures one of the wheels with a manufactured nail that deflates the wheel in seconds.
According to the National Police, while the victim waits in the vicinity for roadside assistance, the perpetrators of the crime take the opportunity to steal the money previously withdrawn from the bank's ATM.
The police investigations allowed the alleged perpetrators to be located in the capital of Lanzarote, who were immediately arrested and transferred to police facilities. Once the police proceedings were completed, they were placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
