At 7:30 p.m., the Civil Guard patrol boat Díez Pimienta arrived at the Puerto del Rosario dock with 2 of the 12 detainees in a drug operation, in which more than 600 kilos of drugs have been seized, according to sources from the Civil Guard. An hour earlier, the device on land composed of Civil Guard personnel, the Puerto del Rosario Tax Patrol and the Local Police had already been set in motion.

The two detainees were surprised by members of the crew of the Díez Pimienta patrol boat of the Civil Guard Maritime Service at a distance of 26 miles from Jacomar beach, Antigua, according to sources from the Armed Institute. The detainees, 2 adult men of Moroccan origin, were heading to Fuerteventura aboard an inflatable boat with a 40-horsepower engine.

Inside the boat, a total of 25 bundles of drugs weighing approximately between 25 and 30 kilograms were seized by the Benemérita officers, which yields a figure of more than 600 kilograms of drugs.

According to the same sources, another ten arrests were also made on land this afternoon of people related to this operation and who may have been surprised while waiting for the drug shipment.
