A man was found dead on the afternoon of Friday, October 17, in a house in Arrecife. The events occurred at around 7:45 p.m., after his relatives alerted CECOES (Emergency and Security Coordinating Center) when they were unable to contact him and observed, through a camera, that he was motionless on the sofa.
Upon the arrival of the Security and Emergency Consortium, the National Police, the Local Police, and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were already at the scene, and a second ambulance later joined. The residence was located on the third floor.
Firefighters tried to open the door through the lock, but it was locked at two points, so they were forced to break it down. Inside, they found the man lying on a sofa in cardiopulmonary arrest. The officers helped the paramedics lower him to the ground to begin resuscitation maneuvers.
After several attempts, the paramedics decided to cease resuscitation and certified the death. Before ending their service, the officers repaired the door so that it could be closed correctly. The National Police remained at the scene for the corresponding procedures.
