A diesel tank of approximately one thousand liters has appeared floating very close to the breakwater structure of Los Charcos beach, in the town of Costa Teguise. This has been learned by La Voz and confirmed by the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote.
Apparently, this tank is located five meters from the shore, between the Salinas hotel and the Sands Beach.
The alarm went off after 11:20 a.m. this Thursday, when a caller reported a fuel spill near this area of the island. Apparently, the diesel tank was placed on a metal structure, from which it came loose and was approaching the stone area.
Civil Protection has been deployed to the area.
