Volunteers from Emerlan have prevented the suicide of a 30-year-old woman who was trying to jump from the bridge that crosses the ring road on Muyay street in Maneje, according to the NGO.
A witness who saw the woman called Emerlan, who went to the scene with a psychologist, and in turn notified the National Police.
After getting her to give up her purpose, Emerlan explains that both their volunteers and the agents spent an hour trying to convince the young woman to get into the ambulance, in order to transfer her to the hospital. Given her refusal to be treated, they requested that a medicalized ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service, with a medical professional, attend.
Finally, the doctor from the Canary Islands Emergency Service managed to get the woman to agree to be treated and she was transferred to the Molina Orosa hospital to assess her condition.
