Salvatore Sinagra, a 30-year-old Italian man, is in critical condition in a hospital in Las Palmas after suffering a brutal attack in Lanzarote, according to the Italian newspaper La Stampa.

His father, Andrea Sinagra, explains to the newspaper that it all started with a "trivial argument in a bar, where Salvatore was playing foosball with friends. Minutes later, when he went out to smoke, he was savagely attacked by an individual with whom he had exchanged words." The aggressor would have fractured his skull, according to the father to the Italian digital newspaper.

The Spanish police are investigating the case, but so far there have been no significant advances. The father states that security cameras captured part of the aggression, which could be key to identifying the person responsible. Meanwhile, Andrea Sinagra remains in front of the hospital, praying for his son's recovery and trusting in the support of the Italian consulate and local authorities. "I only ask for justice and help", says the father.

The young man, after being transferred to Las Palmas, underwent a delicate operation to reduce a brain hematoma. "He is a cheerful and wonderful boy, he did not deserve so much brutality", laments his father, who remains hopeful that his son will recover while waiting for news that sheds light on this tragic event. Salvatore lives in Lanzarote and is known because he managed a cafe in Playa Honda.
