The strong gusts of wind that are being recorded in Lanzarote this Thursday have caused one of the canopies in the Guacimeta airport parking lot to fall. The intense gusts have caused the infrastructure to tilt forward, with its roof resting on the road. The parking lot was empty at that time.

Aena has stated that the maintenance staff "quickly took charge" of the repair, lifting the canopy again. In the parking lot, an area designated for vehicles of disabled people, there were no cars parked when the roof fell, so there was no damage and no pedestrians were injured. The public entity confirms that the collapse "has not caused any incidents."
