Police investigations focused on M.A.B., a citizen of Moroccan origin and involved in the acquisition of blank firing pistols through the Internet and different gun shops in Lanzarote. Once this subject had them in his possession, he modified their characteristics, turning them into real firearms to finally sell them on the illicit market.

Likewise, this person extended his criminal activity to the trafficking of cocaine and hashish on a small scale, even exchanging real firearms for narcotic substances or for a sum of money, approximately 400 euros per unit. As a result of the police operation established on July 16, the arrest of five people in the town of Puerto del Carmen was achieved, when they were preparing to sell an illegal weapon.

In relation to the events, a total of five people have been arrested, aged between 26 and 36 years of age, who respond to the initials M.A.B., L.M.S., W.J.P.Z., M.P.Z. and F.S.C.

Home registration

In the home of M.A.B. with the prior authorization of the Entry and Registration requested from the Investigating Court of Guard, the Police seized five modified pistols to fire real bullets, "all of them of the Blow brand", a modified rifle, a blank firing revolver, 170 modified cartridges, 33 blank cartridges, pellets, lead bullets and tools used for the modification of weapons, seven grams of cocaine (in doses) and a container with a substance for cutting it, 18 grams of hashish and 410 euros in cash.

After being placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, the imprisonment of the main defendant with initials M.A.B. was decreed.
