National Police agents arrested a 50-year-old man in Arrecife, with a long criminal record, as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force in a house in Arrecife. The owner of the property heard noises on the ground floor and went to check what was happening, at which point he surprised an individual in the living room. The arrested man stated that he was a police officer who was on duty chasing a thief, after which he hurriedly left the house.
The events unfolded after a call to the 091 telephone number from the owner of a house located in Arrecife, reporting that after hearing noises on the ground floor and going to check what was happening, he had surprised an individual in his living room. He told him that he was a police officer on duty who was chasing a thief, after which he hurriedly left the property.
The police officers who went to the scene were able to verify how one of the windows of the house, as well as the shutter that protected it, had been forced. Likewise, the owner said that a set of keys to the house had been stolen.
With the physical characteristics provided by the applicant, the agents carried out a search of the surroundings, locating the individual in an adjacent street.
Once identified, the national police officers were able to verify that the alibi used by him was false, so he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force. A cutting pliers was seized during the security check.
After drawing up the corresponding police report, it was sent to the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by agents of the Local Citizen Security Brigade of the Arrecife Police Station.
