National Police agents have arrested M.K. in Arrecife, a 23-year-old man with 33 previous police records, as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force. "Thanks to citizen collaboration", the agents surprised the arrested man after entering two homes. The arrested man was "hiding" in the doorway of one of those houses, whose door was forced open, the Police explain.
The events occurred at around 1 a.m. on October 26, 2016, when a call was received on the 091 telephone number from a woman claiming that she heard noises coming from the roof of her house. According to the police force, "immediately" they received another call from another neighbor of a nearby house. This citizen alerted them that she had seen a young man on her terrace who "when he saw himself surprised ran towards her in an aggressive manner, being able to avoid the aggression by closing the access door to the terrace with a key."
The police officers who went to the scene inspected the homes and discovered this young man, of "similar physical characteristics" to those provided by the neighbors, "hidden" inside one of the doorways, whose access door had been "forced", explains the National Police Force.
For all these reasons, he was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force, and a knife was seized from him. Once the corresponding police report was prepared, it was sent to the Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by members of the Arrecife Police Station.
