The man beaten by two agents of the Local Police of Arrecife was transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital with a traumatic brain injury, after receiving a punch that knocked him to the ground.
As confirmed by 112, an ambulance from the SUC traveled to Pedro Barba Street at around 5:30 p.m. this Sunday to assist the 41-year-old man.
In this regard, sources from the Arrecife City Council have informed La Voz that the man has already left the hospital, from which they assure that he left on his own, being intercepted later by the Local Police, who received a notice from the hospital center.
This man and the other two detainees by the agents were transferred to the National Police Station. According to sources close to the investigation, the three had previously been identified and proposed for sanctions in a chiringuito in the Fairground area, next to the Cabildo, for failing to comply with the measures against Covid.
It was after this that it is stated that the Local Police officers detected them in a car and proceeded to stop them, since they were supposedly under the influence of alcohol. There, it is ensured that they fled, starting the persecution that ended on Pedro Barba Street, where the agents beat two of them, a man and a woman, leaving them lying on the ground.
As for the agents, the City Council has reported that they also "had injuries" and that they went to the Valterra health center, although they have not specified which ones. In the images that have been made public - which start when the driver is already detained and reduced on the ground - it is not appreciated that the other couple even hit the agents, although they do confront them.
