Three people arrested for the stabbing death of a man last Tuesday in Arrecife appeared in court this Friday, and the magistrate has ordered the imprisonment of two of them, charging them with homicide.
As for the third detainee, he has been released with charges, with the obligation to appear before the court on the 1st and 15th of each month. In addition, his passport has been withdrawn and he is prohibited from leaving the island.
This third investigated party is the only one who has answered questions from the Public Prosecutor's Office and the judge, while the other two have exercised their right not to testify.
The events took place at approximately 9:30 p.m. on March 1 in the Maneje neighborhood, on Maciot de Bethencourt Street. The victim, a 56-year-old man, was inside a house, which apparently was a regular drug den.
The assailants entered the house by force, breaking down the front door. Initially, the National Police reported two arrests, of an 18-year-old and a 33-year-old man, although a third arrest was later added of another person who would have been involved in the events.
