The Guenia school, in Guatiza, suffered a robbery this weekend. The theft affected the children's area, the two classrooms, which are not in the main building, but are newly built. The thieves managed to force the windows of the center and took, at least, a computer from the school.
The Civil Guard is investigating these events, as reported to La Voz from the Teguise City Council. At the moment, it is unknown how many people are behind this event. What is known is that they sneaked through these windows in the children's area, near a plot that is not built.
"The most serious thing is the windows, but they have also taken school material such as a computer," confirmed the Councilor for Education of Teguise, Lourdes Cabrera, who has expressed "concern" about these events.
And, in recent times, not only has the Guenia school suffered a robbery for the second time, but the same thing also happened at the César Manrique school in Tahíche. "Here we have installed an alarm system in the classroom where they entered," said the mayor. In this case, it seems that the thieves knew how to sneak into the center, since it was the only class that was not connected to the alarm network.
