The boat that arrived at Famara beach on Thursday morning was carrying four bundles of hashish and several smaller packages of the same drug, according to the Civil Guard, which has indicated that eleven immigrants have been intercepted so far.
At 9:35 a.m., and thanks to citizen collaboration and the Local Police, the Benemérita was alerted to the arrival of the boat in the Papellillo area of Famara Beach. In addition, the presence of a vehicle was reported, which was picking up the immigrants.
The Civil Guard launched a joint operation, arresting several people related to the boat and the suspicious vehicle, where agents also found four bundles of hashish and several smaller packages in the same area.
Health resources also traveled to the scene to assist the immigrants. So far, eleven have been intercepted, one of them being referred to the hospital after presenting a fracture in an arm.
The Benemérita has confirmed that they are all men, of Maghreb origin, and that none has reported being a minor. After carrying out the corresponding police procedures, the immigrants will be transferred to the National Police Station of Arrecife, which is competent in matters of immigration.
