The Island Library of the Cabildo of Lanzarote suffered a fire on Thursday afternoon. The fire occurred after a capacitor bank in the electrical panel located in the building on Alcalde Ginés de La Hoz street in Arrecife exploded.
A security guard in the building managed to extinguish it using a CO2 extinguisher. With the collaboration of the Cabildo's technical service worker, the firefighters checked the inside of the electrical panel and a measurement was taken with the thermal camera. The technician had also cut off the power to that electrical panel.
After verifying that there were no significant hot spots in the electrical panel, they ended the service.
