The corpse of a cetacean calf was found stranded this Tuesday in the vicinity of the coastline bordering the Atlantic Garden Hotel, in Playa Blanca. After receiving the notice, agents of the Local Police and Civil Protection personnel from Yaiza traveled to the area, where they could only confirm that the animal was lifeless.

The cetacean has had to stay in the area because, "on the one hand, the state of the sea prevented the navigation of any boat, and on the other, the advanced state of decomposition that the animal presented made its extraction to land impossible", according to reports from the southern City Council.

Those responsible for the Cetacean Museum of Puerto Calero, who were alerted to the discovery, pointed out that it was the specimen "of a calf, about 4 meters in length, and that died at least a week ago, for reasons yet to be determined." And it is that after carrying out an examination of the corpse, they affirm that "it did not appear to have suffered attacks from another animal".
