The Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of Lanzarote, proceeded on Thursday 22 to a routine inspection of hunting activity on the island, these surveillance campaigns will continue until the end of the current season and are carried out throughout the province.

According to the Benemérita, Seprona has stepped up surveillance of hunting activity in the current season, carrying out different surveillance and inspections in the province of Las Palmas in order to ensure compliance with hunting regulations and animal welfare.

Therefore, in a single day, Seprona inspected different places authorized for hunting on the island, identifying more than 40 people who were carrying out this activity.

"These inspections are aimed at controlling documentation in three areas: hunting, the weapons used and the animals that accompany the hunters -dogs and ferrets-, in addition to checking the safety distances in which the activity is carried out - it corresponds to 50 meters with any road or highway and 100 meters on the houses-, these being the different reasons why Seprona reported 11 people on the island", add from the press of the body.
